Happy Spring banner

I was so inspired by The Chester cards I wanted to use him on something else other than a card.  I decided to make a banner with him!  I love making banners for the holidays.  Banners are so quick and fun to make.  Originally I was going to make an Easter banner but decided again to go with spring theme so it could be kept up longer.  Here I have pix showing up a few up close pix of the banner.  I will also be doing a YouTube video.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8jfzFvAWW0&sns=em
Sorry for the lighting it was late when I finished it.  I made this for my girlfriend's daughter.  She has a super cute play area and I figured she could hang this up somewhere.  First I used my My favorite Things banner die.  I used the largest size and cut it with burlap.  It's a burlap paper stack I got from Joanns.  I used the next size down to cut out the pattern paper.  The stack is a pastel 6x6 pack from michaels.
I die cut 3 circles out with my stitched mft circles in watercolor paper.  I colored all the images with my distress markers.  I stamped Chester on one, used paper smooches mini monogram set for my sentiment, and the third circle I remembered my new Purple Onion Design stamps!  I couldn't wait to use the toadstool and snail stamp.  I thought it went perfect with this project.
I backed the circles up with kraft paper that I punched out with my scallop punch.  I glued the circles down but then popped up the scallops for some dimension.
Then I started embellishing the banner with little flowers and buttons.  I used random items in my stash including the adorable green clip.
I also used my martha Stewart punch for the butterflies.
I used my crop a dile to make holes for my white grommets to run pretty white satin ribbon through.
I hope that you enjoyed my quick spring project!

Spring is here!

I'm kind of glad winter is done and spring is here.  Now the winds have kicked up and everyone's allergies are awful, but at least it's not freezing cold any more.  I'm finally in the mood to make Easter/spring time cards.  I made two cards today using whipper snapper designs Chester.  He's so flipping adorable.  I colored him with my distress markers and lindys stamp gang magicals on watercolor paper.
I messed up a little on the embossing.  It smeared a little and there was no way saving it.  The first one I colored was the bigger die cut.  I used my mft stitched circle die which I'm in love with!  I swear I use it on everything.  I also used Paper Smooches mini monogram stamp set I recently received.  I wrote out the sentiment happy spring.  I thought about wiring happy Easter but with this sentiment it could be kept up for a longer time.  So the second Chester is smaller and is colored with my distress markers.  I also used wink of stella on the center of the flower to give it some shimmer.
One lighter colored Chester and one darker chocolate bunny.  One purple flower and one pink one!  I ended up adding a felt flower to each of the cards to give it an extra something.  Hope you enjoy!
